Asher's first day at the beach

So can you tell that E and I have actually had time while being here to do things like post (let alone set up this blog in the first place)? It's amazing what a difference it makes having several other family members available to put loving arms around the wee ones, and subsequently how much time becomes available to do more than simply fix the next bottle or change the next diaper, or try to finally get to the lagging laundry in between.... (I won't even discuss our consistently furry carpet). I guess that's why it's called vacation; the demands of real life go on hold for awhile. So we've basically been doing a whole lot of napping and breathing... and spending relaxed family time together. One of our holiday events was to take a trip to the west side of the state to Naples and go to the beach, so Asher had his first experience in salt water. It was pretty fun to see him feeling the waves and the sand moving under his feet while I held him. As soon as I figure out how to post video I'll put that up, but in the meantime here is a cute picture of Charlotte with Asher in the sand.

Art and Gardens in Miami

A few days ago we all went to the Fairchild Gardens in Miami to walk the grounds and see the Chihouly glass installation there. It was incredibly beautiful and I felt fortunate that the gardens had been significantly restored after the hurricanes of 2005 and were open now. I'm including some photos of the installation and gardens and the girls in their dress-up outfits they decided they had to wear... we told them they were rivaling the glitter of the glass sculptures all day. If you're ever in Miami this place is definitely worth the trip.

OK, I've been inspired

So my dear friend Susie at suziehulahoop
has been blogging for some time now with a little dudelet mere weeks older than Asher, so seeing her succes with posting I have decided that it's high time for me to make available more of the general cuteness to be found in my new-mommy life these days. The fam will be quite appreciative, I'm sure, as they've been (nicely) yelling for pics of the wee ones and we have been woefully remiss. So, here we go, and hopefully this will be a nice way to keep y'all current!

So here are a few pics of the tots... Asher in his duckie towel and Charlotte and her cousin Jordin all dressed upon Christmas morning.
